You need to create a set of validation types for the validation of individual questions. These validation types will be used when creating questions within the library and also by the study designer when creating new questions in the Study Definition module. The names created here will appear in the question validation message at data entry.
Validation types cannot be deleted.
Note: Changes to validation types will only be reflected in the Study Definition module after the Library Management module has been closed.
Select Parameters > Validation Type. The Validation Types window is displayed.
Click New.
Enter the name for the new validation type into the Validation name entry field.
Use the drop down list to select the behaviour for the new type. You have a choice of the following 3 behaviours:
Reject data if |
This will force the data entry user to re-enter data that satisfies a validation condition. |
Warn if |
This will allow the entry of data that satisfies a validation condition. The data will be flagged with a warning symbol for further review and possible correction. |
Flag if |
This will allow the entry of data that satisfies a validation condition. The data will be flagged with an inform symbol for the attention of the reviewer. |
