To register a database,
you need the 'Register database' permission
Select
Database > Register Database or right click on the
icon in the tree view. The Register Database window is displayed.
SQL Server is the only available database option. Oracle databases are no longer supported.
Click OK. The relevant window is displayed.
Enter the connection values that were entered when creating the database. There is a limit of 15 characters for the DB Alias.
When all the fields have been completed, click Test to test the connection.
If the connection tests successfully, click Register.
To unregister a database,
you need the 'Unregister database' permission
You can unregister a database by right-clicking on a database in the tree view and selecting Unregister database from the popup menu. This removes the database from the list of known databases, but it does not delete the database. The database will no longer be available to log in to. You can register the database again later if you wish.
